So today’s idea is a pen/pencil holder to go with the exercise book I made in part 1.
As I wanted to ensure I could get 2 holders out of one piece of cardstock, I started by cutting an A4 piece of paper in half.
Measurements:
- Base: Very Vanilla 5 7/8″ x 4 1/8″
- Score the wide side at at 1 1/4, 2 1/2, 3 3/4
- Score the long side at 5 1/8
Burnish the score lines using a bone folder, the using your snips or paper trimmer, cut along the bottom of the score line from 0″ to 1 1/4″, leave 1 1/4″ until 2 1/2″ intact then cut the rest of the score line as per above photo. On the piece that you have left intact, cut along a diagonal line from the top of the paper until you reach the score line, this helps with the folding under of the card.
Now for the top section, at the score line 1 1/4″ and 2 1/2″ mark at 1 1/2″ down the card, then cut along the diagonal line, again as per the above photo.
Stamp the images onto the card stock before adding tear tape to the edges and sticking the edges down. make sure when you stick down you leave a bit of room for the pencils.
Stamp then die cut the image and glue directly onto the card stock before you die cut the circle to ensure the cut image also has the fancy edge of the circle.
Glue or use tear tape to stick the circle directly onto the pencil holder and insert the pencils. this can be done after the child has coloured the image.
Thanks for reading Creative Fraggle, have a super day!
