Good Luck Chinese New Year Box

As I am hoping to celebrate Chinese New Year with friends, I thought I would make a quick and easy table gift box.

It is quite a small simple box but it will be big enough to hold a chocolate or two plus a New Year wish.

As you can see it is red as this is an auspicious colour, symbolising luck, happiness and joy.

Lanterns are chosen as every year there is a Lantern Festival which is the climax of new year celebrations. This year it falls on the on the 5th February.

I fussy/ hand cut 3 lanterns and folded each of them in half. Taking 2 of the lanterns, I glued 2 halves together. The third was then glued on the back of the two halves. As you can see in the picture above, the top Lantern is part glued, the last lantern is just glued to the back. This creates an added dimension.

I hope you like the box, if you would like the dimensions of the box or require any instructions, please do email me as I will be happy to send you them.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Thanks for reading Creative Fraggle and have a super stamping day!
