WORLD CARD MAKING DAY

Who are you making a card for today? No time to make one? Enter my competition on Face Book for a chance to have a card sent to your special person on your behalf. Competition closes 12pm (AEDT) on 11/10/2019.

On my Stampin’ Up team page we are changing the day into a week so that we have chance to send out extra cards under this banner. For the team members who want to participate, they just add their name into the comments section, they then sends a card to the person above them in the list. Such a fun idea! Feel free to add your name to the comments below if you would like to send and receive a card.

My Finished card

The lady I was allocated is a new demonstrator, so my card is sent to cheer her on! The message inside is to : REACH FOR THE STARS!

I am totally in love the Stampin’ Blends, they are so easy to use to create shading and blending of colours.

I started by colouring sections of my card stock with the Dark blend of Night of Navy and dark Cherry Cobbler. I also used the Dark Daffodil Delight in the top right hand corner. I then went onto to use the lighter of each colour to blend and overlap the darker sections. This “spreads” the colours and makes them bleed into each other. I went over everything in Pool party which has the effect of Lightening sections. I did the same with the Light Daffodil Delight pen.

With Blends, I find that you sometimes need to leave the colours to settle for 5 mins before you can really see the finished effect. If I am not quite happy after that time, I just touch up the sections that I need to.

I then stamped some stars using Versa Mark Ink ( You need Versa Mark for embossing) and used the Silver embossing powder along with a heat gun to give texture.

Using Silver card stock, I Die cut the main star shape and some smaller stars using the Stitched Stars Dies.

I added the sentiment from the Well Said Stamp set and stamped that onto Very Vanilla Card stock which I Die Cut using the Stitched Labels Dies.

The card base is made from Night of Navy and because of this I added a very Vanilla insert which I stamped with extra stars along the top. I also decorated the envelope with more stars both on the front as well as the back.

I do hope you share the love and join in the fun of World Card Making Day/Week although in my opinion every day is a good day to make and send a card 🙂
