I recently watched Kylie Burtucci’s “Love it, Chop it” video ( click HERE to view) I wasn’t sure what “chop it” meant as I associate “chop” with The Muppets and Miss Piggy in particular “HI YA!” so I am going to call it “Love it, cut it, use it” as I beleive this is what we should do.
We all love our DSP and tend to save it because it is so beautiful, we don’t want waste it or ruin it but cutting but as it is so beautiful we should use it and share the love.
In this series I will show you that by cutting it, you can make so many wonderful cards, for so many people.
I started of by doing as Kylie recommends in her video, which is to cut my first sheet into pieces measuring 4 x 5 1/4 inches, this gave me 6 full layers. This also left 3 “scrap” pieces measuring 1 1/2″ x 4″ ( I cut the 4″ first ) but as we don’t want to waste a single bit, I will show you how to make another card using these scraps on a later tutorial ( so keep checking my blog)
I also knew that with one piece I wanted to have a diagonal DSP card so I pre-cut one of the 4 x 5 1/4 pieces by lining each opposite corner piece along the cutting board blade line, again these pieces are for another day.
First Card
The first card, I kept simple and just glued the DSP straight onto my base card. I then stamped the images onto a piece of white card measuring 4 x 2 1/2′” using the Dino Days Stamp set.
I layered this onto Old Olive card stock measuring 4 1/8 x 2 5/8 inches” using “Tombow” Multi purpose liquid glue.
Second Card
The second card, I glued the DSP straight onto Old Olive card stock measuring 4 1/8 x 5 5/8′”.
Using another piece of Old Olive Card stock measuring 1 1/2 x 5 5/8″ Glue this directly on top of the DSP, add a dinosaur and a sentiment using Dimentionals to give the raised effect.
Always remember to decorate inside the card.
