LOVE IT, CUT IT, USE IT! DESIGNER PAPER SERIES (DSP) DAY 2 – DINO DAYS

Welcome to day 2 of my series: LOVE IT, CUT IT, USE IT!

A tutorial of how to start using and making the most of your beautiful DSP ( Designer Series Paper)

Today I have 3 cards made by using just ONE of the sheets I cut yesterday.

If you remember in DAY 1, I cut one full sheet into 6 individual pieces measuring 4 x 5 1/4 inches each.

Today I decided I wanted a bit more from this piece! My DSP is precious after all.
I started by cutting the sheet down the middle of the shorter side to give 2 pieces measuring 2 x 5 1/4 inches.

CARD 1

Card 1 – With one piece I decided to cut 3 circles out at equal intervals using the smallest circle from the Layering Circles Framelits Dies. ( don’t discard the circles as we need those for the next card)

I took a piece of Whisper White card stock measuring 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 ( I wanted a small border) and stamped my images directly onto the paper ( in Lovely Lipstick and Flirty Flamingo inks)

Using a piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock measuring 5 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches I used Multi liquid glue to attached this directly to the white cardstock on the left hand side leaving a border of about 1/4 inch.

I then stamped and cut out 3 dinosaurs using the Dino Dies and glued the very edge to the inside of the DSP so that the heads hang out of the circles.

Attach dimensionals to the underside of the DSP and the Dino’s to create a raised area and attach onto the Flirty Flamingo cardstock which is already on the Whisper White card.

Then attach the whole thing to your card base, I used Lovely Lipstick cardstock to create my base ( 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4)

CARD 2

Card 2 – We will now use the 3 circles left over from card 1.

First cut Lovely Lipstick card stock 5 1/4 x 4 and attach to the card base.

Using Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, I chose the 21/8″ square to cut 2 squares in Flirty Flamingo cardstock.

I then cut out a rectangle using the die 1 5/16 x 1 13/16 from Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies.

Glue all 3 pieces onto the Lovely lipstick card stock, the 2 squares at the top equal distance apart. The rectangle needs to be at the bottom under the 2 squares.

Stamp and cut out another 2 Dinosaurs plus a sentiment attach to the DSP circles using dimensionals.

Then glue the circles to the squares/ rectangle.

CARD 3

Card 3 – Take your card base and stamp the sentiment “thanks for being a FRIEND-A-SAURUS” directly in the middle of the bottom section of the card.

Take a strip of Flirty Flamingo cardstock 2 x 5 1/2″ (The width of the car base) and glue onto the top section of the card, leaving an edge of white at the very top.

Take your strip of DSP and using Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies, cut out 3 squares using the smallest square in the pack. Glue these onto the Flirty Flamingo cardstock at equal distance apart.

Again using the Stitched Shapes Framelits take the smallest circle, cut out 3 in Whisper White card stock.

I stamped 2 dinosaurs in Old Olive and one in Flirty Flamingo. which I cut out using the dies.

I then used the circle die again to line up the Dino’s head so it was central to the circle, Once happy with the position of the head I put through the Big shot to cut away the excess Dino, this made a stitched edge, which I then fussy cut so that the edge of the Dinosaur lines up with the inner circle on the white circle.

These heads I glued to the white circles then put a dimensional onto each circle and stuck those onto the DSP squares.

Join me again tomorrow for even more ways to use up your DSP and thanks for reading Creative Fraggle!

Have a wonderful day x
