Double Joy – Card 1

When I was living in the Middle East, I was blessed to meet some really amazing people, friends for life in fact. More than that they became my second family.

How grateful I have been to see Izzy and Nisha grow into such fine young ladies and how honoured to have been included as one of their Doha family members! Even though we are now no longer in the same country, they are always in my heart!

These girls are so fun loving so I am sure they will enjoy this fun card. I miss not crafting with them both so much along with all of the other fun things we did x

Measurements:

  • Base: Whisper White 5 1/2″ x 8 1/4 scored at 4 1/8″ or 14cm x 21cm scored at 10.5cm
  • Layer 1 Lovely Lipstick 5 1/4″ x 3 7/8″ or 13.3cm x 9.8cm
  • Layer 2 Dino Days DSP 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ or 8.9cm x 8.9cm
  • Layer 3 Petal Pink 5″ x 3 5/8″ or 12.7cm x 9.2cm

I started by die cutting one of the fancy edged circles from the Layering Circles framlits dies but any circle will do.

I then put the same layer into the 3D basket embossing folder. The folder has two sides, the largest side which has the Stampin’ Up logo on it, is the top and will be the front emboss. As I have already cut the circle into the card on one side, I needed to be careful to ensure I placed the circle the correct way up other wise the Kangaroo wouldn’t be looking at the cake!

I stamped my Kangeroo image, cake, candles, sentiment and party hats!

Then using my snips, I fussy cut the images that I didn’t have a die for. The Kangaroo I ran through the big shot after colouring with my Stampin’ Blends.

I used multi-purpose glue to attach the hats to both the Koala and the Kangaroo the added dimensionals to the Kangaroo so I could attach the image to the DSP. Make sure to line up the DSP to the top layer first though! I did this by glueing the DSP onto layer 1 first.

I used Wink of Stella on the cake, taking some of the colour and spreading it onto the white icing, the colour then bled into the white sections making it not only sparkle but giving it a slight pink tinge.

I glued the cake and candles directly onto the top layer.

I added dimensionals to the sentiment to create more texture.

The top layer is attached to Layer 1 with dimensionals and then this is glued directly onto the card base.

Have the most amazing birthday you lovely young ladies xxx

Thanks for reading Creative Fraggle and have a super stamping day!

Love Lynda x
