My sister-in Law just recently visited us, this was her first time here in Australia and she loved it! So much wildlife to see and so many wonderful little villages to have a wander around.
The Beautiful village of Leura in the Blue Mountains was her favourite place, one reason is because it is so pretty and the other was that it was already prepared for Christmas! All of the shops filled with so many wonderful gifts and decorations! We had so much fun wandering around.
As she loves Christmas and the Australian animals so much, I just could not resist buying her a souviner bauble to remind her of her time in Oz!
How cute is this Christmas Koala!
I just knew I had to make a box just as special so that she could treasure them both forever.
Measurements:
- Box Base: 12 x12″ or 35cm x 35cm
- DSP Box Lid 6″ x 6″ or 18cm x 18cm
I took my card stock and scored at 4″ and 8″ on the first side, then turning the card around I then cut at 3 3/4″ to the first score line, I left the section from 4″ to 8″ intact then cut again from the scond score line. I then scored all the way down from 4″ and 8″ then at 8 1/4 ” I cut until the first line and again from the second score line as per the picture above.
As per the photo above I added tear n tape to the small scored edges. These edges were folded inside to create the box.
I wrapped the Koala in bubble wrap and placed inside, he fit perfectly into his little delivery box!
For the lid, I used DSP and scored all around the card stock at 7/8″.
I did the same cuts as I did for the Box base, added tear tape again and sealed.
For the decoration, I added Baubles on one side and stars on the other in copper foil.
I made a label by using 2 sizes from the Nested labels Dies, which I layered onto each other, I used Veramark and copper embossing to create my sentiment and added a couple of baubles in co-ordinating paper.
I love it and so did my sister-in law!
Thanks for reading Creative Fraggle, have a super day!
Love Lynda x
