Papercraft Basics!
No Matter what type of Papercraft you are doing, you will need the following three tools! You will need a pair of scissors. Remember, not all scissors are born equal – buy the best first of all and you never need to worry about scissors again. If you are going to be working with ribbon, I would recommend a separate pair just for ribbon. Be careful though, snips are sharp! They have a pointy end, which means you can get a really nice crisp end cut. Then you will need a Bone Folder which will help you have crisp, burnished edges. This is essential for your card bases and if you are making 3D items such as boxes or treat gifts. Finally I would also recommend a Paper Trimmer. A good one will allow you to cut and score meaning you only need one tool. It should have a fold out arm which allows you to work with 12″x 12″ card too. Unfortunately Stampin up have not yet released their new improved trimmer but if you do need help choosing one, I will be happy to assist in a recommendation, just give me a call or drop me a message.

Card Making Essentials
All cards need a base of some description! You can use A4 card to create your bases which gives you the freedom to make any type of card, or you can use a pre-cut Note Card. I love this size as it’s perfect for quick & easy cards. If you are making cards, you will also need envelopes so you can send them. Envelopes need to be good quality so that you can add a stamp or two – don’t send naked envelopes your recipient will just love the extra effort!

Adhesive Guide
Practically every project needs glue, but there is no need to get confused about which to use. Simply click on the guide below and you will be able to clearly see which glue is for your project!
Multipurpose Liquid Glue aka Tombow – Is high tack and a little goes a long way. Gives you about 10 seconds“wiggle” room! You really don’t need a lot so a bottle lasts a long time! My go to adhesive.
Snail Adhesive – is very fast to use and is great for paper and card. It’s medium to low tack and easy to use-a big favourite for bulk making or scrapbooking.
Tear & Tape Adhesive – Tears really easily so no need to use scissors. Backing peels of easily and is high tack. Great for ribbon and for 3D projects. Careful-once stuck you can’t peel it off.
Fine Tip Glue Pen – features a very fine tip for adhering detailed dies, glitter or any small elements. There is a pin in the lid to prevent clogging. It can also be used as a glossy finish – just cover an element in the glue and leave it to dry overnight for a glossy look like windows or raindrops! You can also add ink to it to create a coloured glossy effect. Very useful around Christmas time! It needs time to dry- maybe 10 minutes to an hour or if you have coloured a big area, leave overnight. Don’t use with ribbon as it seeps through the material.
Mini Glue Dots – Very high tack and great for small objects. Take the object to the glue dot rather than the glue dot to the item. Great for small embellishments!
Stampin’ Dimensionals –Adds dimension to projects. Available in two sizes – standard & mini.
Foam Adhesive Strips – Adds dimension to projects. Comes in long strips that you cut down to size. Great for larger items or for making shaker cards.

I use Memento as my go-to black ink. I also use the Classic Ink Pads and Write Markers so I can have ink in every colour!
Tools needed for Stamping!
Stamping is a great and easy way to make your papercrafts projects into something special.
Firstly, you will need to know the difference between stamps. We have 2 basics types of stamp; Cling and Photopolymer.
Cling stamps are made of Red Rubber and a supportive layer of foam for setailed images.
Photopolymer stamps. These are transparent stamps that are ideal for precision placement. They also are mounted temporarily onto clear blocks. As Photopolymer stamps are transparent, we have a range of techniques that have become simple due to the ease of seeing through the stamp. Such as; Two-Stamp Stamping, Repeating Patterns, Accurate Alignment and Mix & Match.
Both stamps are mounted temporarily onto clear blocks for stamping and then removed for storage. As these temporarily attached, it means a clear block can be used again & again. (Clear block come in a range of sizes.). They are also easy to keep clean. I have only listed Block H as a beginner, this will do for most stamps. As you become more avid, you will probably invest in other sizes for more options.
To clean your stamps I would recommend a Simply Shammy – This reusable stamp cleaning cloth makes stamp cleaning effortless. Just add water, then wipe stamps on the shammy. Durable, thick shammy easily cleans ink from narrow grooves. No lint, no chemicals—just clean! (Ink will stain shammy but won’t transfer to your fingers or other stamps.)
Multipurpose pickup and precision tool simplifies meticulous tasks. Tacky putty end easily picks up sequins, paper accents, and other small objects; twist to dispense more putty. Other end has 2 changeable, double-ended tips with paper piercer, mini spatula, small stylus, and large stylus.
