Special Day Card – Making the most of Scraps

I really am having a clear out of my scrap box! The main label has been in there for months so it really was time to either use it or throw it! What would you have done? For me it is too pretty to throw it away and I am so pleased I didn’t as it has made this beautiful card for my teenage friend although it could easily have been used for a wedding, engagement or any other special day!

Measurements:

  • Base: Blushing Bride 5 1/2″ x 8 1/4 scored at 4 1/8″ or 14cm x 21cm scored at 10.5cm

So not too many measurements are needed as the rest of the labels are from scrap card! Pretty good eh!

I started by embossing the card with the die from stitched labels. When I first bought this set I just didn’t think I would use that die but now I love it!, It adds so much texture and takes a plain background and transforms it effortlessly.

Make sure when you emboss you don’t go onto the back of the card base.

I didn’t have my Real Red stamp pad with me so I used my Stampin’ Write Marker to colour the stamp. This is an alternative way if you don’t have lots of Stamp Pads.

For this card I used different images to stamp onto my scraps to make them look interesting.

For the main label and the little label on top I used Dimensionals to attach to the card, the rest of the images I used Multi purpose glue.

I added 3 rhinestones as this card needed bling!

I also used a Wink of Stella around the edge of the main label.

I stamped inside the card the same as the one below ( I forgot to take a picture of this actual card. I didn’t use the white insert in this one as the Real Red works so clearly.

I stamped the envelope too.

Totally gorgeous!

Thanks for reading Creative Fraggle and have a super stamping day!
