On a recent flight, I was busy gluing some DSP onto the cardstock for my Dino Days Memory album, Sia, the lovely cabin attendant started to ask about my crafting, the conversation that followed alerted me to today’s emergency. It was her brother’s birthday and today’s flight schedule would mean there was no chance of shopping to buy a card!
Sia went on to ask if there was any chance I could help her out and make a card.
How could I resist when I believe handmade means so much more than shop bought.
That’s when I started to panic, why oh why didn’t I carry some ink pads or pens on the flight? I had packed my animal outing stamps along with my D block, in my hand luggage after all!
Although to be fair to me, they were originally in my hand luggage but last minute I decided that as I would be working on my Dino Days Memory album, I wouldn’t actually be stamping on the plane, hence why I moved them to my suitcase.
Not wanting to let down someone in need, I quickly rummaged through the supplies I did have with me.
How happy was I when I remembered that last night when packing, I had thrown in some previously cut items which included a pre coloured Kangaroo from the Animal Outing stamp set ( so glad I wanted to colour and play with my Stampin Blends, the other night) along with some pre die cut circles and a flower from the Well Written Dies!
Luckily I hadn’t transferred my cutting board so I was able to make a card base by cutting an A4 Whisper White sheet at 5 1/2″ leaving the width at 81/4″ which I scored at 4 1/8″.
Using some of the Dino Days DSP that I had packed for my project, I had an amazing background for the image.
I then layered using Tombo, the circles and flower then finally using a couple of Dimensionals I popped Kevin the Kangaroo and Keegan the Koala on top.
Disaster averted!
I hope Myles likes the card and has a super birthday x
Thanks Sia and the rest of the crew for a fabulous flight!
