A slow start to my coffee and card session led to this little beauty!
I think you know by now that I always carry spare card and multiple pre- cut shapes, so can you believe that on this occasion I only had 3 colours of cardstock with me! Black, Old Olive and Real Red.
Yep I was totally surprised although to be fair I had packed 2 traditional Christmas colours thinking I would do something Christmassy but when it came to creating today, I just wanted to make some butterflies.
I started out using the tiny dotted stamp to create a background, in two of the corners I stamped once then re-inked and stamped again and again. The closer to the other edge and the centre the less I re-inked in-between stamping. In parts of the card, the ink is so light you can hardly see it.
I then cut out the main butterflies from each of the large dies, one colour per die. I hadn’t planned to use both colours on this card but not having used this set before I wanted to see each pattern.
I was pleasantly surprised that I actually liked the colour combination!
I just felt it needed something extra, so I added a wink of Stella to the Old Olive butterfly.
Hmm, I still wasn’t totally happy so next I decided to use the Pineapple Punch to colour in the white section of the largest butterfly as I thought this would bring the card together with the background pattern.
Once that was done, I jut couldn’t stop, so I decided to use 2 other colours to brighten up the card further.
I thought that the card was done at that point and as my first crafter had arrived I popped the card away.
When I unpacked my bag after a lovely morning of coffee and card, I decided what was missing was bling!
Yay good old Rhinestones to the rescue.
Thanks for reading Creative Fraggle, have a super day!
