Dancing Beautiful You

Do you remember in the post SENDING HEALING THOUGHTS YOUR WAY STEPH! I used the inner section of the nested die and said I would keep and use the outer section at a later date, well the day has come and I am indeed using the “waste” piece lol

As I had a little lul in my coffee and card session this Thursday, I had time to make this beautiful card. Having some pre-cut shapes with me is always fab to have at moments like these, as looking at my pieces, the card usually builds itself 🙂

Luckily at the last minute before leaving the house I had thrown in my bag some of my Stampin Blends, I wonder if I had a sixth sense that I would have a quiet time lol This card was just meant to be!

Measurements:

  • Base: Whisper White 5 1/2″ x 8 1/4 scored at 4 1/8″ or 14cm x 21cm scored at 10.5cm
  • Layer 1 Pool Party 5 3/8″ x 4″ or 13.6cm x 10.2cm
  • Layer 2 Petal Pink 5 1/4″ x 3 7/8″ or 13.3cm x 9.8cm
  • Layer 3 Whisper White 5 1/4″ x 3 7/8″ or 13.3cm x 9.8cm

I stamped my image onto Layer 3, then using Stampin Blends I coloured both the dress and the hat.

The one thing I didn’t pack was any Stampin Sponges or Sponge Daubers. Het ho, #Letsgetcreativefraggle sprange to mind! As I wanted a sort of smudged effect, I took a bit of scrap paper so I could have a play and experiment. I wet a serviette with water, scrunched it into a ball and then applied some ink form a stamp pad onto a block. I dipped the serviette into the edge of the ink and then lightly dabbed the pape with it. I was hapy with the effect.

Taking my Layer 3, I loaded the the serviette again with a small amount of ink and then for the first dab I usedthe scrap paper as I didn’t want the colour too bright. I then dabbed randomly over the areas to be covered, first in the Pineapple Punch and then in the Pool Party.

I hope you can see the Blue but it is very light , I was trying to create subtlety, and remove the harsh white from the sunny day.

I used the flowers and leaves from the Free ass aBird Stamp set, coulred them again with the co-ordinating Blends before Fussy cutting them.

I really felt that the card needed the colours pulling together so I added the extra Pool Party layer, hence the small borders between the layers. You might want to make the gap a little wider if you prefer to see more colour.

This was a quick card for me but I guess that was because most of the cutting had been done previously, It definately keep me occupied until my next person arrived.

Thanks for reading Creative Fraggle, have a super day!

Love Lynda x
