Well how many people can say a sock inspired their card?
I was given these socks for Christmas, cute aren’t they lol
Well I was wearing these socks in my craft room when I was trying to think of what Oz Day card I should make. My husband said I should make a card with the Australian flag but I wanted to use some of my new stamp sets from the Jan – June Mini Catalogue.
At this point I happened to look down, that was when I decided on the colours for the card!
Oh and how cute are those Koala’s? so Ozzie too!
There is a Koala in the Bonanza Buddies Stamp set – Perfect!
I decided that the Australian flag was a good idea too, thanks Stephen x I did a quick Google, downloaded then printed an image of the flag.
Bunting is perfect for parties and celebrations, it is also a die in the co-ordinating Bonanza Die set, this card was just making itself!
I wanted something else Australian, I had though at first I could have two Koala’s throwing a Boomerang but I thought my free hand drawing might not be comprehensible to anyone but me lol
I settled on the Kangaroo, one of my favourite stamps of all time 🙂
I used the masking technique (stamp the main image onto a post-it note and cut around the edge, use this to protect the original stamped image) to create the balloons.
Which I fussy cut
I used a banner form the Ornate Frames die and stamped the sentiment from the Bonanza Buddies set
