You Make Me Happy with Painted Poppies

I hope you all had a wonderful Australia Day along with a perfect long weekend!

I was lucky enough to spend the weekend in Port Stephens, gosh it is such a beautiful area! Below is the view from Tomaree Head Summit, stunning isn’t it!

I didn’t think I would have time for crafting but I did pack a few items just in case lol

I have been desperate to play with the Painted Poppies stamp set from the new Mini Catalogue but sometimes you just need a little colour inspiration!

Well I didn’t have to look far as on the little table I was planning to craft on had a set of coasters, a I went to move them I thought what a lovely colour combination.

Pretty aren’t they.

As I didn’t have many supplies with me I wanted to keep the card very simple, as you might have read before I often have some pre cut shapes, the stitched nested frame being one of these shapes.

I did a sample stamp in Whisper White on this shape along with a sentiment from the Perfectly Framed set in black to match the black backing.

I added colour to the poppy and the stem before layering with dimensionals.

I also added a thin piece of cardstock as an extra backing which was glued directly onto the black layer.

I might try making the card again with the poppy in just petal pink, what do you think?

I have just added a few sequins now that I am home, would you have the same? I do like that some of these sequins are shaped as flowers.

Thanks for reading Creative Fraggle and have a super stamping day!
