Using DSP is just so easy and creates beautiful cards effortlessly.
I will eventually make 2 Cards from this 1 piece of DSP, I love it when I do this, The paper is just so beautiful, it’s great to make extra cards!
Measurements:
- Base: Very Vanilla 5 1/2″ x 8 1/4 scored at 4 1/8″ or 14cm x 21cm scored at 10.5cm
- Layer 1: Pretty Peacock 5 1/4″ x 3 7/8″ or 13.3cm x 9.8cm
- Layer 2: Brightly Gleaming DSP 5 1/4″ x 3 7/8″ or 13.3cm x 9.8cm
I started by choosing the second largest die form the Stitched Stars set, placing the die into the centre of the DSP, I used my Big Shot to cut out the star.
Put the cut out star to one side and save it for another day, as I will use this in another project.
Take your Pretty Peacock layer and place underneath the DSP.
Ink your star stamp pad ( I used Versa mark as I wanted to emboss with Cooper to match the DSP but if you want to keep things simpler then just use a co-ordinating colour to stamp the patterned star or if you prefer leave blank, (it would work just as well, as per the picture below)
Make sure that the DSP and Layer 1 are lined up to ensure when you do stick the pieces together, the star can be seen fully. Now stamp the image.
I added the embossing powders and heat sealed the image.
Add dimensionals to the back of the DSP and attach to Layer 1.
Glue Layer 1 to the base card.
I decided to add a sentiment, which I also embossed.
I wanted to use the Stitched Rectangles but the one I wanted was just too deep for the space under the star, this meant I had to cut the card twice with the same die to get the shape I needed.
I didn’t remember to take a photo this time but in the image below, you will see I needed to line up the already embossed holes before running through the Big Shot.
I found a piece of scrap DSP so added this to the inside of the card.
I am sometimes a little clumsy! While I stamped the inside sentiment, I somehow managed to get a little ink on the cardstock, so I stamped a couple of stars to hide the mess, perfect!
