A friend’s daughter has finally been released from hospital after a gruelling 23 days of procedures, tests and surgeries!
Thankfully in the UK where they live, there is the NHS who have the most amazing doctors and nurses who took care of her so well! ( I believe here in Oz we have Medicare which is quite similar, how good are they too!)
Even though Steph is at home, she has still a long road to full recovery so I wanted to cheer her up and send some healing thoughts her way x
I decided to make her a fancy fold, stand up card which I made by first taking a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and cutting to my usual measurements of 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2 then scored at 4 1/8″ and then again at 2 1/16″. Fold along these two score lines as per the picture below.
Next I chose the DSP from the Bird Ballard set which I cut at 5 1/4 x 3 7/8′ which I then glued onto the inner section of the card.
Using another piece of Very Vanilla card stock measuring 5 1/4 x 3 7/8″, I used the second largest from the Nested Label Dies to cut out my centre piece ( I made sure to put this centrally on the card stock so the outer piece can be used an another project)
As you will see from the photo above, I also used the same die to cut out a centre piece in Petal Pink ( save this inner for another project as we are interested in the outer part fro this project.) I then sellotaped the Vanilla inside the Pink.
You need to cut along the faint indented line on the pink card stock as per the above photo. This creates a stitched patterned edge and border to the Vanilla.
Stamp the desired image directly onto the Very Vanilla label and use Stampin’ Blends to colour.
I used the Well Written set for the sentiment and used the same technique for the sentiment label as I did for the main section of the card.
Using dimensionals I attached the main label onto the bottom half of the front of the card and again using dimensionals I attached the sentiment onto the centre of the DSP which enables the card to stand up.
On the back of the card I stamped the sentiment “Sending Healing Thoughts Your Way” along with a few flowers. I also used the flowers to decorate the envelope.
I hope this card make you smile Steph and I hope you feel better soon x
Love Lynda x
