Quick Stamp, Scraps and Die Cutting

If you have read my tutorials before, you will know that when I do my weekly coffee and card session, I have a box of pre-cut shapes, items I have previously cut and decided not to use for whatever reason. I also have part cut card stock in there, bits that if I had been next to a bin I would have probably thrown away!

Today, I was looking through this box thinking I should now throw away some of these smaller bits but then thought why waste them lol

Measurements:

  • Base: Real Red 5 1/2″ x 8 1/4 scored at 4 1/8″ or 14cm x 21cm scored at 10.5cm
  • Inner Layer Whisper White – Scrap Square

I started by using cross stitch die form the stitched labels set to create the background ebossed effect

Then it was a case of choosing which scraps to use and how to use them. The stitched label die are great for this as the give texture to scrap and makes them into pieces of beauty – to good to throw away!

Depending on the size of the card piece decided on which die I would use. as you will see I had very small pieces of Balmy Blue but big enough for a label and a heart.

The slightly lager Pineapple Punch meant I used both of the edging dies to add differing designs.

I am sure we all have off cuts of Whisper White! Too many to keep but enough for 2 labels, one of which I used for the sentiment.

I used my Stampin’ Write marks to colour the stamp so it co-ordinates with the card stock.

I wanted the card to have some sparkle so I used a Wink of Stella on the scalloped circle from the Layer Circles Dies.

I had a larger scrap piece of Whisper white which I used for the inner of the card, I used another sentiment and glued a little heart too.

The heart also had a Wink of Stella.

I hope this card gives you some ideas of how to use up your scrap.

Please let me know what you do with your scraps or do you just throw them away?

Thanks for reading Creative Fraggle and have a super stamping day!
