International Women’s Day began in the early 1900s and is a “a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality,” according to the official IWD website.

I am proud to be a strong woman and I applaud each and every strong woman I know but I want to thank two special woman in my life starting with my Mum who has always given me the strength to follow my dreams, to never lose faith in myself and my abilities, who taught me to love myself, to be kind and generous and never to give up!
My daughter, such a strong beautiful woman, even in illness will always give 100% to everything she does. Giving her time freely to support others in need, while working and studying. She does this with a smile on her face and joy in heart, always wanting to bring out the best in everyone around her!
