I wanted to make a fun simple card, with lots of bright colours and I think I have achieved that with this card! I also knew I wanted to use up some of my scrap pieces of cardstock, yep I achieved that too lol
Measurements:
- Base: Whisper White 5 1/2″ x 8 1/4 scored at 4 1/8″ or 14cm x 21cm scored at 10.5cm
I started by stamping 2 different images directly onto my card base
I placed a scrap piece of paper over half the card so that I had a neat line to separate the 2 halves although later on I found a small piece of blushing bride cardstock which was the correct size which I then stamped and used to cover the middle section.
I also wanted to play with my Stitched stars stamp set to show they are so versatile and not just for Christmas cards.
This was glued directly onto the card base.
I wanted to use the sentiment ” you make me smile” so I started by stamping, then fussing cutting the words.
I just wasn’t sure I liked the effect so I decided to try again this time splitting the sentiment into 2 separate pieces and using the stitched rectangles as a base.
The problem with this was there wasn’t a rectangle that would fit so I had to run the die through the big shot twice to get the size I needed.
When doing this you really need to be careful to line up the “Stitched” effect otherwise you will cut through the card as I did originally!
When you pop the first cut card stock into the die, if you line up the cut edge and move it side to side you should be able to feel the edged catch on the embossed section, once you feel this you are ready to run it through your machine again.
I used glued the backing cardstock directly onto the card base and used dimensionals to raise the sentiments.
I added a rhinestone to the heart just to give a little bit of bling and then stamped the inside of the card.
It’s a great simple card and a perfect way of using scraps.
Thanks for reading Creative Fraggle and have a super stamping day!
Love Lynda x
