BIRD BALLARD – TRIPLE EASEL CARD

I first made a Triple Easel Card under the directions of http://createwithcayleigh.com/ at one of her craft retreats. We made a beautiful Christmas card with Santa looking out of his window ( the middle easel) and his washing was hanging on the washing lines on the two side easels, it was a really fun card which I still have displayed in my craft cabinet.

As I was looking for inspiration to enter a competition for an International Blog hop place, I just knew I wanted to recreate the easel. The Free as A Bird stamp set is currently one of my favourite sets, so it is just the perfect match.

I am so pleased with the results. I hope you agree! If you do, you can vote for me: HERE

First I took a piece of Soft Suede card stock and cut 9 x6 inches for the base.

This needs to be scored on the short side at 3inches.

Turn the card around and create the 3 easels by carefully cutting at 3 and 6 inches but only to the score line.

For the side easels, you need to score from the outer top corner to the centre bottom corner, which will create a mirror effect. Fold each score line so you end up with your card stock looking like the picture below:

With another piece of Soft Suede card cut out 3 pieces measuring 3 x 3 inches each.

In Calypso Coral, cut out 3 pieces measuring 2 7/8 x 2 7/8 inches for layering the easels.

Also in Calypso Coral Cut 8 7/8 x 2 7/8 for layering the base

In White, cut out 3 pieces measuring 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 inches.

Cut 1 Piece 8 3/34 x 2 3/4 inches for the base.

On the base layer I used the large flower and the edge of the 4 bird stamp for the leaves and tiny flowers which I stamped in Soft Suede.

On the small white cards for the easels, I also stamped in Soft Suede the sentiments onto 2 of the cards for the sides and the 4 bird stamp for the centre. On all of the easels, I used the leaf stamp for randomly stamping around the edges.

I used Stampin’ Blends in Light and Dark Calypso Coral to colour the flowers, Light and Dark Pool Party for the Leaves and Light to outline all of the shapes as it gives a subtle effect, like a sort of a glow.

Once I was happy I attached all of the layers together, then using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, I applied to the area’s on the base that are folded over so I could then attach the final easel squares.

The final sentiment I stamped on White Card then used the Oval from Stitched Shape Dies to cut this out. I then used the same die to cut 2 more Ovals in Soft Suede, I used to glue to attach to the bottom of the white Oval trying to create an edge under the bottom half of the white.

Using the Calypso Coral Dark blend pen I carefully coloured the edge of the white card, to create the current 3 layers. I attached this oval to the centre of the base with a couple of dimensionals, this layer keeps the easel in place. I Fussy cut 2 small flowers and used dimensionals to attach one flower on each side of the oval to keep the side easels in place. I added a large flower and 2 leaves to the centre oval to finish the card.

Thanks for reading Creative Fraggle and have a wonderful day x
